Gibson SJ-200 Standard

1
Grover’s original Rotomatic tuners are an engineering marvel, with style and performance exactly suited for the J-200 Standard. With a gear j200 guitar ratio of 14:1, the Rotomatics deliver precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. All moving parts are cut for exact meshing, eliminating the possibility of slippage. A countersunk tension screw lets players regulate the tuning?tension to any degree. A special lubricant inside the gear box provides smooth and accurate tuning stability.

The Epiphone EJ-200 brings back the historic acoustic guitar deservedly known as the “King of the Flat-tops,” the J-200. Originally introduced in 1937, the J-200 set a standard for guitar excellence that others have been trying to match ever since. Today—over 70 years later—the legacy of “King of the Flat-tops” lives on in our EJ 200.

When the SG or "Solid Guitar" was introduced in 1961 as a replacement for the Les Paul, it was called the "fretless wonder" for its low frets and fast action. The twin horn cutaway double neck guitar
design was like nothing on the market and its light but balanced weight made it the perfect guitar for stage and studio work. “There was nothing better than when Jimmy Page got out the double neck for Stairway to Heaven”, he continued. “I mean, it was a truly mind-blowing experience.  The only moments I remember more than the first time I saw Jimmy play are my wedding, and the birth of my children.”

At one point or another every guitarist has secretly fantasized about having allege propped on a monitor double neck guitar
as he or she busts out a killer solo on a double-necked guitar. Admittedly in practice these two-headed monsters can be a pain to lug around but they also afford you the opportunity to play two separate guitars during one song, which can be a valuable tool. Additionally it's pretty much scientifically impossible not to look cool while rocking one of these; just don't get all Cheap Trick and start playing a seven-neck guitar. Only Rick Nielsen can pull that off.

I had a history teacher back in high school that was kind of a crazy cross between Fred Rogers and Gandhi– Gene Beringer.  Gene’s probably the most mild-mannered cat I have ever double neck guitar
come across.  I mean nothing– not even smart-ass 15 year olds who constantly screwed around in class (yep, yours truly), could get this guy riled up. Necessity being the mother of invention. I designed the Dickson DN-2 in 2006 and handcrafted the instrument with Hideko in Tokyo that same year.
