Firebird Gibson Sale‎

This Gibson was a little more work than most, due to it having had a re-spray in red cellulose at some point over its original sunburst finish. The only way around this if you’re firebird tuners
going to do it properly is to re-finish a larger area and fade the paint to a joint. Done correctly it will be invisible, and this is the method I used for this repair. 19827_Firebird_Classic_White_2014_140010125_1 This is a very unique version of a 125 as the electronics were customized in the late 1950's, possibly by Gibson, after the guitar was completed as a standard ES-125. It has a two-way rotary switch that switches between two separate sets of volume/tone controls. Both capacitors are from the late '50's including one "bumble bee" capacitor. One of the tone pots is different from the others, but the other three are Centralab pots that date to 1956 + 1957. All 4 knobs are consistent with each other and are Gibson late '50's knobs. The original P-90 pickup read very strong at 7.81 ohms. It has a great playing neck with good frets.
